His Promise Butterfly Devotional “I belong here”

Joshua 1:3-5 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. 5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you ⸻ Reflection Have you ever asked God the question why I am I here? Or God what is my purpose here? I found myself asking God those questions many times. I have been in places; I have sat in rooms where I felt ostracized and misunderstood, and I couldn’t help but feel like I just don’t belong here. There have been so many times, that I have allowed those feelings of not belonging to chase me out of the very places that God has seated me. I have allowed feelings to control my purpose instead of walking in God’s will. In Joshua 1 verses 3-5 God say’s: “I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. 5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you”. The scripture reminds me that God prepares us for promotion. God may sometimes send us places where we will feel like a foreigner, and we feel like we don’t belong but every place he places us his occupied by Him and not man. We are living and we reside on Gods foundation. Joshua 1:3-5 shifted my question from “Do I belong here”? To the positive and courageous statement of “I know I belong here”! I know I belong here because God has guided me and placed me here and although I feel uncomfortable, I am in alignment with God and I am not alone. Every room I’m placed in and every position I’m assigned is to fulfill The Lord’s prophecy and to fulfill promise. ⸻ Prayer Father God, I thank you for strength and encouragement, I thank you for stretching me. I thank you for building my esteem and increasing my wisdom and understanding. Thank you for going ahead of me. Thank you for your divine protection and guidance. I thank you for building me up and preparing me for promotion. Thank you for reminding me that I belong even when I feel like I don’t. My prayer is that I honor you when I feel uncomfortable and seek you when I feel weak. I pray that your faithful love endures within me forever and I pray that your will be done and your kingdom come. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Author Latisha Robinson His Promise Butterfly
